You don't think the far right went after Bill Clinton pretty hard? There were dozens of video and audio tapes sold through umpteen different sources accusing him of murdering two teenage kids, a pregnant teenage prostitute, a friend of Paula Jones and her boyfriend. Of flying drugs into Mena Arkansas, I could go on all day. Was this because he didn't look like Jessee Jackson? Come on........

The OP is directly from Fox news, Beck has focused on it.

It's what it boils down to, I believe that now. I think if McCain had the same exact plans and was trying to pass the same legislation, there wouldn't be nearly as much accusations, ridiculous ones at that, going around. I know there was plenty of rumors on Clinton, but was it as widely accepted like these rumors are? Back then a lot was written off as just some idiots believing it, things like the "birthers" are believed by active politicians pushing for it. It's a whole new level, it's never been this bad.

First, the vid stands on it's own "demerits". You don't need anyone to hype it to you or spin it in your direction for it to come across as creepy and cultist.

You're looking for hooded boogie men who aren't there. Remember you had people on national TV (Rosie O'Donnell for one) claiming that Bush was behind 9/11. There will always be idiot radicals on both sides getting attention and filling the airways with crazy idiots.

BTW, some of the accusations against Clinton made it to "Unsolved Mysteries" and several similar shows.

Personally, I'm still hopeful that this administration will do some very good things. It worries me to no end that they have flip-flopped on free trade and have seemingly backed away from a demand for a public option, among other things.

Now, I agree that a lot of the attacks are over the top and harmful to the nation. What I don't agree on with is that Obama is somehow a special target. It started to escalate in ugliness during the Reagan years and then got completely out of hand during the Clinton years.

We as a nation have lost the respect for the office that simple decent manners dictate that we have, and the libs were just as guilty during the Bush II years.

Call me atheist/agnostic/Jesus-hater (which isn't the case) for saying what I'm about to if you all must...

But if this is cultist/creepy, then so is the Jesus Camp stuff w/Bush. It's indoctrination either way, if that's the perspective we're working off of. Respecting the president as the leader of our country and singing his praises are two different things, no matter if the POTUS is a Dem or GOP member.

The Jesus camp thing was creepy and I doubt if too many other than those on the very far right could watch it and then defend it. But those kids were in a private camp setting. This is a public school setting.

That's the big difference to me.

Even worse IMO, and again, don't see how anyone other than an extreme lib could defend it. Teacher should be sternly disciplined.

That doesn't make the indoctrination any better/worse. To me, it's like you're saying that a kid going to school being indoctrinated is worse than a kid going to church and being indoctrinated.

I say give them the facts and let them choose for themselves, don't tell them what to think/force them to think one way or the other.

Agreed. Leave politics in history/civics/government class, not in music class so a teacher can cook up an original composition. Just the same as I believe we should keep the Bible out of politics and vice-versa. Each one of those wells gets poisoned by the other, IMO.

Re: Elementary School Students Taught to Sing Praises of President Obama

Well, it's worse because it's public school. We are paying for the indoctrination. The kids don't have much of a choice as to be there or not in either case (some private camp exceptions) but in the public school setting neither the kid nor the parent presumably have a choice for the child to not attend.

You can expect a certain amount of doctrine at a religious camp. You do not, or at least should not, expect it in public school.

Expected/paid for or not, indoctrination sucks. It takes away free will and free thought which is DANGEROUS.

Well, I agree with that^ But free will (choice) are/is the key words/word.

The kids at the Jesus camp are there by choice. Either their choice, their parents choice or in many cases a combinations of the two. The kids in the video are there by mandate.

They were? All children were there by their parents choice, I'm assuming you watched it, the "parents" were plain crazy.

Yes there were kids who wanted to be there, they focused on several of them. It's one of the more disturbing things in the segments I've seen.
